Viborg Folkeuniversitet

Viborg Folkeuniversitet has been in existence since 1918 and has organized interesting presentations, lectures, and courses for over 100 years. In 2020, the university got its first website, as the board felt it was time to enter the digital age. Until then, the communication of events was through a physical printed program twice a year, and ticket purchases and reservations were made by phone.

Webfar, in close collaboration with the Viborg Folkeuniversitet board, has developed a website that allows viewing of all events in their calendar and purchasing tickets for different events directly through the website. The site was developed with WordPress and Woocommerce.

This is what Viborg Folkeuniversitet says about Webfar

As a representative of Viborg Folkeuniversitet, I was responsible for the development of a website that allows our audience to follow our lecture offerings and simultaneously purchase tickets for the events.

In this context, I entered an agreement with Morten Vestergaard, my former colleague from VIA University College. I knew (and know) Morten as an exceptionally competent webmaster and a fantastic service-oriented partner.

The minor bumps that occurred in the process were on our end. Morten was consistent, precise, quick, and competent all the way through.

He concluded the process by producing several easy-to-understand videos, which made it easy for us 'amateurs' to update the website. Excellent!

The site quickly proved to be a success: Even though the majority of our audience is over 60 - and until now has received the program via traditional mail - up to 90% of the tickets in the first season were sold through the website.
